Overview

The F1 Firearms BDRX-15 5.56mm NATO 16in Matte Rocket Pop Semi Automatic Modern Sporting Rifle is the pinnacle of precision engineering and tactical innovation. Designed for shooters demanding both form and function, the BDRX-15 combines lightweight skeletonized technology with robust materials for a rifle that excels in reliability, ergonomics, and performance. Whether for competition use, duty carry, or recreational shooting, this modern sporting rifle delivers consistent 30+1 round capacity, pinpoint accuracy, and a distinctive Rocket Pop matte finish that stands out on any range.

Precision Engineered Receiver and Barrel

At the heart of the BDRX-15 is a matched grid 7075-T6511 billet receiver set, CNC-machined to exacting tolerances. This high-strength aluminum alloy guarantees years of rugged service with minimal weight penalty. The 16-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel features a 1:8 twist rate optimized for stabilizing a wide range of bullet weights from lightweight varmint loads to heavy match projectiles. The chrome-lined bore enhances corrosion resistance and simplifies cleaning, while the precision barrel extension ensures rock-solid alignment with the upper receiver.

Monolithic Free-Floating X7M Handguard

The free-floating X7M handguard not only contributes to the rifle’s striking monolithic appearance but also maximizes accuracy by eliminating contact between barrel and handguard. Its skeletonized M-LOK compatible design offers an abundance of secure attachment points for lights, lasers, bipods, and other accessories. Lightweight yet highly rigid, the X7M handguard integrates seamlessly with the receiver for a streamlined profile that maintains a continuous sight plane from the muzzle to the shooter’s eye.

Ergonomics and Control

F1 Firearms has equipped the BDRX-15 with Black Magpul MOE grips and a Magpul MOE buttstock to enhance comfort and weapon control. The adjustable stock provides six positions of length-of-pull adjustment, while the rubberized texture of the MOE grip ensures a confident hold under all conditions. The slim, contoured handguard and low-profile gas block placement allow for a natural shooting position and precise aiming over extended shooting sessions.

Rocket Pop Matte Finish

The eye-catching Rocket Pop finish on the BDRX-15 is achieved through a durable Cerakote process, delivering both corrosion protection and striking camouflage aesthetics. The subtle blend of red, white, and blue hues pays homage to American heritage while providing a non-reflective surface that reduces glare and helps conceal the rifle in the field. This finish is applied to the receiver, handguard, and other exposed metal surfaces, ensuring uniform protection across the entire platform.

Reliability and Ease of Maintenance

Featuring a semi-automatic direct impingement operating system, the BDRX-15 is built for reliability in any environment. The chrome-lined gas key and bolt carrier group resist carbon buildup, while the chrome-plated gas tube enhances longevity. Quick-disconnect sling mounts and a reversible charging handle add to the rifle’s user-friendly design. Routine maintenance is straightforward: simply field-strip the upper and lower for access to the bolt carrier group and barrel extension, then lubricate and reassemble for continued peak performance.

Customization and Compatibility

The BDRX-15’s AR-15 platform compatibility opens the door to virtually limitless customization options. Swap out handguards, change buttstocks, or upgrade triggers and muzzle devices with ease. The 1:8 twist barrel supports heavy match bullets, making this rifle ideal for precision long-range shooting as well as fast-paced 3-gun competitions. Standard Mil-Spec controls allow for ambidextrous safety, magazine release, and bolt catch upgrades.

Ideal Applications

Whether you’re a competitive shooter, law enforcement professional, or weekend warrior, the F1 Firearms BDRX-15 excels in diverse roles. Its combination of light weight, high-capacity magazine, and superior barrel harmonics make it perfect for:
