Overview

The Diamondback Firearms DBX CF 5.7x28mm Modern Sporting Pistol is engineered for shooters who demand lightweight handling, flat shooting performance, and tactical versatility. Chambered in the innovative 5.7x28mm cartridge, this pistol delivers remarkable velocity, minimal recoil, and exceptional accuracy in a compact, firearm platform. The black hard coat anodized aluminum frame and free-floating M-LOK compatible handguard stand up to rigorous use, while the DBX muzzle device threaded 1/2×28 RH offers easy attachment of suppressors or muzzle brakes. Combined with an FN Five-SeveN compatible 20-round magazine, the DBX CF emerges as an unbeatable choice for personal defense, range performance, and competitive shooting.

Precision 5.7x28mm Cartridge Performance

The DBX CF’s 8-inch match-grade barrel is optimized for the 5.7x28mm cartridge, launching lightweight projectiles at velocities exceeding 2,000 feet per second. Shooters benefit from negligible muzzle rise and near-instant target reacquisition, making follow-up shots faster and more precise. The proprietary dual gas piston operating system ensures consistent cycling and reliability under adverse conditions, while the locked breech design enhances safety and durability during rapid-fire sessions.

Durable Construction & Ergonomics

Constructed around a billet aluminum receiver with a black hard coat anodized finish, the DBX CF resists scratches, corrosion, and everyday wear. The free-floating handguard features a full-length Picatinny top rail and M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock for easy mounting of lights, lasers, and grips. The angled Magpul MOE-K grip offers an ergonomic palm swell and texturing that promotes positive control during recoil. At just 3 pounds unloaded, this pistol is exceptionally light, reducing shooter fatigue without compromising structural integrity.

Optic Ready & Customization

The DBX CF arrives optic ready, featuring a flat-top upper receiver with pre-machined mounting points for popular red dot and reflex sight footprints. Whether you choose an RMR, DeltaPoint, or Aimpoint micro, the DBX CF’s mounting versatility allows for rapid installation. Standard AR-15 Mil-Spec trigger compatibility lets you tailor the pull weight and reset to your preference, while the threaded muzzle (1/2×28 RH) provides direct attachment of suppressors, compensators, or flash hiders.

FN Five-SeveN® Magazine Compatibility

A standout feature of the DBX CF is its acceptance of off-the-shelf FN Five-SeveN® magazines, offering shooters access to high-capacity, reliable feeding with OEM reliability. The included 20-round magazine supports sustained fire without frequent reloads, ideal for range sessions or defensive scenarios. Spare magazine availability and proven FN magazine design ensure the DBX CF stands ready when you are.

Recoil Management & Shooter Comfort

Thanks to the 5.7x28mm cartridge’s low recoil impulse and the DBX CF’s balanced design, shooters experience minimal muzzle flip and swift target reacquisition. The dual gas piston system further dampens felt recoil and enhances cyclic stability. The M-LOK slots allow attachment of QD sling swivels or vertical grips, promoting better control and comfort during extended use. The DBX CF’s ambidextrous safety lever and reversible magazine release make it user-friendly for both right- and left-handed shooters.

Tactical Applications & Versatility

From close-quarters personal defense to precision target shooting, the DBX CF excels in multiple roles. Its compact footprint and light weight make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, while the 8-inch barrel retains ballistic efficiency for out to 150 yards. Law enforcement, security professionals, and competitive shooters alike will appreciate the DBX CF’s rapid shot-to-shot capability and customizable optics options. The pistol’s threaded muzzle invites suppressor use for noise reduction and muzzle flash mitigation in low-light operations.

Maintenance & Reliability

Routine maintenance of the DBX CF is straightforward: the dual gas piston system is self-contained, keeping the receiver clean and reducing carbon fouling. Standard AR-style takedown pins allow quick disassembly for cleaning in minutes, and all critical components are corrosion-resistant. Diamondback Firearms is known for rigorous quality control, ensuring each DBX CF delivers consistent performance from the first round to the last.
